We are passionate about modern technologies and are always trying new, innovative products. Among all the devices that we tried, we listed our top favorites and highly-recommended devices below.
Home Devices
1. Robot Vacuum and Mop
We chose the iHome Robot Vacuum and Mop because it could vacuum and mop (not at the same time), and it was more affordable than Roomba. If you want to save time cleaning, then this item is a must-have!
2. Ring Doorbell
Ring Video Doorbell 3 is a great device to replace the traditional doorbell with and doesn't need to be hardwired. It allows us to see, hear and speak to anyone from our smartphone and also allows us to receive mobile notifications when anyone presses our doorbell or triggers its motion sensors. We recommend Ring Video Doorbell 3 instead of Ring Video Doorbell 2020 release because the removable battery pack makes it easier to charge. Not only do we enjoy its features but also feel safer with this smart doorbell installed.
3. Smart Speaker
We've been using both Apple's and Google's smart speakers to play music and receive virtual voice assistants for simple tasks. They both work and sound great! We recommend that you buy what you are familiar with. If you are an iPhone user, you should get the Apple HomePod mini. On the other hand, if you are an Android phone user, Google Nest Audio might be a better choice.
4. Smart Plug
We use smart plugs to schedule our lights to turn on and off automatically at specific times. We can also control them from anywhere (even away from home) using our smartphone.
5. Rechargeable Batteries
We use AA & AAA rechargeable batteries for our wireless mouse & keyboard, battery-operated lights and more. We are not only saving money but also protecting the environment.
6. Streaming Device
We use Google Chromecast to stream shows and music from our smartphone to our non-smart TV. If you have a non-smart TV, this device is very useful because you can stream directly from your smartphone (no remote control needed).
7. Digital TV Antenna
We use a TV antenna to watch HD channels like ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and more for free. If you don't want to pay for an expensive cable bill, you can use a TV antenna instead. We recommend a long range TV antenna because you can receive signals even if you live far from the broadcast towers or even with bad weather or a lot of interference.
8. WiFi Extender
We purchased a WiFi Extender because a part of our home didn't have strong WiFi coverage. This effectively fixed the problem. If you have the same problem or have WiFi dead zones in your home, you should give this a try.
Other Devices & Accessories
1. Apple AirTag
We use Apple AirTag to keep track of our wallets, cars, keys and bags so that we can find them in case we lose them. If you have an iPhone, this is a great device to have. It uses a standard battery that lasts more than a year and also can be easily replaced.
2. Loncaster's Car Phone Holder
We have tried multiple types of car phone holders before, and this one works the best for us. The design is great and it holds our phone securely while we are driving. In addition, it is compatible with most kinds of cell phones and doesn't scratch the phones or cars.
